Ford have smashed it again with their all-new premium SUV reinventing the classic Ford Mustang to keep their strong sense of heritage still at the forefront. The iconic pony badge featured throughout the new model immediately catches the discerning eye. This all-electric model may have put on weight but there is a wonderful coupe feel to it with its instant response and quick acceleration. 18” alloy wheels come as standard, (you can upgrade to 19”), and there is a code system door release.
The claimed driving range pairs up with these performance factors with the AWD version achieving 273 miles per full charge whilst the RWD version can achieve a range of 379 miles. If you’re wondering how long it takes to charge, you can attain an 80% charge in just 45 minutes.
Incredibly practical, the Ford Mustang Mach-E has loads of storage: The boot, at full extension, has a continuous flat floor and there is extra storage under the bonnet. There is ample storage inside with plenty of sockets and big ‘door bins’.
The cabin itself is impressive with solid, interior build quality. The steering wheel is adjustable, there’s a huge central screen and a physical volume dial. The B & O sound bar is built into the dashboard and there is wireless charging throughout.

Having always fancied a Ford Puma in its previous life, my ears pricked up on the announcement of its return. Some felt it was a very bold move to bring back the Puma name in the shape of a compact crossover, but it has paid off. It’s another Ford head turner with its funky good looks and cheeky ‘grin-shaped’ front grill. It certainly put a smile on my face given the chance to recently take the 1.0 litre 155ps Ecoboost Hybrid for a test drive.
It’s a pleasure to drive with innovative features to enhance the whole experience. There are selectable drive modes to deal with various terrains and the Ford Co-Pilot360 - an impressive set of assistance technologies - can even recognise speed signs and adjust the cruise control speed accordingly. Not just good-looking but extremely clever too!

Scoring highly on the comfort factor, lumbar support front seats, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and fabulous all-round defrost system are huge pluses on these frosty mornings… In fact, with the FordPass App, you can prepare your car for a safe, frost-free journey all from the comfort of your sitting room!
Steering towards a greener future, its impressive fuel economy with lower CO2 emissions than other hybrids, makes it a great choice for me. I found the auto start-stop system very effective in traffic adding to the efficiency of the vehicle.
The beautifully sculpted exterior is balanced with thoughtful functionality. I loved the clever Megabox feature– 80litres of extra space under the conventional boot space with waterproof lining and drain plug. Neat!
All in all, great fun to drive, cleaner on the environment and kinder on running costs. 1.0l 155PS version is capable of 0-62 mph in just 8.7 secs. so, although it’s also put on weight, it’s still no slouch!

As Ford unveiled their F-100 Eluminator Concept in Las Vegas last November 2021, we wonder how long it will be before we see UK classic car owners utilizing the concept for their own heritage vehicles.
Based on a heritage 1978 F-100 pickup, the F-100 Eluminator concept features all-wheel drive via two powerful electric motors shared with the 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition. Two electric traction motors drive the front and rear wheels, packing a powerful 480 horsepower and 634 lb.-ft. of torque. Eluminator, the first e-crate motor from Ford Performance Parts, is based on the Mustang Mach-E GT’s traction motor.
The all-electric F-100 Eluminator concept, designed and created by Ford Performance, was built in collaboration with MLe Racecars and sits on a custom chassis by the Roadster Shop. It’s painted in Avalanche Gray with Cerakote Copper accents applied by Brand X Customs. The interior features a billet aluminium dash by JJR Fabrication and avocado-tanned leather upholstery by MDM Upholstery. It’s fitted with custom 19x10-inch billet aluminium three-piece wheels by Forgeline wrapped in Michelin® Latitude® Sport 275/45-19 high-performance tyres.
